I'm sure most of you have heard about how Social networking sites like Facebook are being criticized due to 'privacy' issues.  You may have also read the article that was featured not so long ago, on this website.

Now, thanks to Spylogic.net we have a guide that explains why and how you can set up your Facebook account in order to keep it safe from the evil eye.

The document, which by the way is a two-pager, starts off with the 5 commandments for Social Networking:
1) Set appropriate privacy and security defaults and choose a complex/unique password for your account.
2) Be careful installing third-party applications. Don’t install applications from sources you don’t trust.
3) Only accept friend requests from people you know directly.
4) Read the privacy policy carefully and limit personal information you share.
5) Be careful what you post. Consider all information and pictures you post as public!

The rest suggests instructions which are Facebook specific.

I found it to be rather well balanced - so you won't be missing out on usability.

Now we just need one for Myspace, Youtube, Hi5, Orkut and the others ;-)
